SMITH Beth Ann (Lee) Beth Smith, age 42, died June 21, 2009, as a result of an auto accident near Angola, IN. She was born Beth Ann Lee in Bowling Green, Ohio November 22, 1966. She lived in Haskins, Ohio and attended Haskins Elementary and Grand Rapids Jr. High School. She and her family moved to Toledo in 1981 and she graduated from McAuley High School, Toledo, Ohio in 1985. Beth earned a Mechanical Engineering Bachelors Degree from the Ohio State University in 1990. She stayed in Columbus and worked at Medex Inc. She married Chris Smith November 16, 1991. She moved to Peru, IN, with her husband in 1996, where she continued to live until her death. Beth was active in the community, volunteering countless hours for her children’s schools, YMCA, and other community organizations. She was also a contributor to the Northern Indiana Community Foundation. She is survived by her husband, Chris Smith; daughter, Abigail 16 and son, Cameron 12. She is also survived by her mother and stepfather, Nancy (Patton) and Steve Felix of Metamora, Ohio; sister, Libby (Chad) Adams of Pleasant Prairie, WI and brother, Mark Lee of Toledo; along with many nieces, nephews and loving, long time friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Andrew Lee. Her funeral will be held at Eikenberry – Eddy Funeral Home in Peru, IN at a later date, when her children are able to attend. A memorial Service will be held on July 18, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick’s of Heatherdowns, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, Ohio with a luncheon to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up to honor Beth and provide support for Abigail and Cameron’s rehabilitation and educational needs. All contributions should be sent to the Beth Smith Memorial Fund c/o Edgewood Management 350 Park Ave., 18th floor, New York, NY 10022. Contributions will also be accepted at the Memorial Service and luncheon.
