Husband of ’69 Mary Alice Crossen Honisko passed away

HONISKO Richard J. “Rick” Richard J. “Rick” Honisko, age 59, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 26, 2010, in his home. Rick was born in Toledo on October 29, 1950, to James and Betty (Hahn) Honisko. He was employed with Paragon Service and Supply, Inc. in Lima, OH. Rick was a sports enthusiast and an avid Detroit Tigers and OSU fan. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and coaching his kids in grade school. Rick was a member at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Toledo. He will be remembered for being easy going, his wonderful sense of humor and his love for his granddaughters. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mary Alice (Crossen) Honisko; daughters, Andrea (James) Born, Marcia Honisko; son, Eric Honisko; granddaughters, Adeline “Addie” and Elise who they called “Papa”; mother, Betty Honisko; sister, Sandra (Bob) Young; aunt, Verlyn Duncan; uncle, Leon Heinl; brothers in-law, Thomas (Smorn) Crossen, James Crossen, Richard (Jeanne) Crossen, Donald (Sandra) Crossen and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rick was preceded in death by his father, James Honisko and father and mother in-law, Thomas and Alice Crossen. Friends and family may visit at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, on Thursday, September 30, 2010, from 2-8 pm where funeral services will begin on Friday at 9:15 am followed by Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to OLPH, St. Francis de Sales High School or the charity of the donor’s choice. www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
