Mother of Colleen Quinn Strayer ’74 passed away

QUINN Beatrice L. Beatrice L. Quinn, age 92, of Toledo, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek on Friday morning January 14, 2011. She had been a resident there since April 2010. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Philip and Louise Thibert and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1937. She married Clifford Quinn on April 19, 1941. They were founding members of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. During WWII she worked for the former Ohio Bell Telephone Co. and the Champion Spark Plug Co. Briefly in the early 1970s she volunteered at the former McAuley High School and in more recent years she volunteered in the development office at Central Catholic High School. She and several of her classmates still got together for monthly luncheons. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, and infant daughter; brother, Remy Thibert, and sister, Agnes Jackson. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Janet) Quinn, Waterville, Michael (Patty) Quinn, Bloomfield Hills, MI, J. Patrick (Marie) Quinn of Toledo and Colleen (John) Strayer of Grand Rapids, Ohio. The grandchildren are Ivan (Kim), Claire, Jessica, and Alison Quinn; Elizabeth (John) Pavlik, Stephen, and Patrick Quinn; Jacob (Geraldine) Quinn, and Shelby and Remy Strayer. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Menard and Mary Alice Brown. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Sunday January 16, 2011 from 2-8 p.m. where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the mortuary on Monday, January 17th at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church.
