JONES Marianne D. Marianne D. Jones, 76, of south Toledo, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Marianne was born on January 12, 1935, in Toledo to Richard and Dorothy DeChristopher. Marianne worked as an accountant for the Brotherhood of Maintenance Way Employees for 30 years, retiring in 2009. She was a member of the former St. James Catholic Church and currently a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Marianne enjoyed reading, crocheting and making afghans for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Jones in 2004; brother, Richard “Dickie” DeChristopher. She is survived by her children, Jennifer Struck, Karen (Ralph) Lampkin, Christopher (Gerald) Jones; grandchildren, Callie (Reese), John, Kyle (Vicky), Erika, Joshua, Jordan and Richard; great grandchildren, Alissa, Kaitlyn, Kianna, Amiyah, Keira; and special niece, Bonnie and her family, Ashley, Alicia, Krystal, Samantha, Brionna, Kayden and Tori. Also surviving are her brothers, Joseph, Jack (Pat), Raymond (Judy) and Theodore (Cathy) DeChristopher; sister, Kathleen (Cecil) Gunner and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., on Sunday, March 27, 2011, from 2 to 8 p.m. with Scripture Services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011, beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2255 Central Grove Ave., Toledo, OH. MERCURIO Mary Catherine Mary Catherine Mercurio, age 89, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at The Waterford at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, surrounded by her loving family. Mary (Katie) was a member of St. Rose Parish in Perrysburg for over 60 years. She was active in the Rosary Altar Society, was a past board member of the St. Rose Seniors and a member of the Bereavement Choir. She was also very active in the LCBA. She is survived by daughters, Mary (Al) Opaczewski of Toledo, Patricia (Doug) Kaiser of Pensacola, FL, Sandy (Kurt) Ahlers of Bowling Green, Jacquelyn Bensman of Sylvania Township, Karen (Paul) Schwegler of Bridgeton, MO, Ellen (Doug ) Moser of Perrysburg; sons, Richard (Linda) of Santa Rosa, CA and Timothy (Michelle) Mercurio of Palmetto, FL; 19 grand children and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rich; her parents, Paul and Dorothy Mohr; her sister, Gladys English; her brothers, Paul and Bobby and her sons -in-laws, Tom Bensman and Terry Heltman. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at The Waterford for the tender care and compassion that they gave to Katie. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road, on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m., in the mortuary, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:15 a.m. in St Rose Church, Perrysburg. BRIGODE Mary Frances “Shannie” Mary Frances “Shannie” Brigode, age 85, of Perrysburg, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 4, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mary Frances was born on September 13, 1925 in Toledo to Frank J. and Marguerite (Baude) McManus. Mary Frances attended St. Joseph’s School, Maumee, graduating in 1939. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy, Toledo and received the Scholarship Medal-highest honors for four years. Mary Frances enrolled in the accelerated program at Mary Manse College, Toledo, majoring in chemistry and physics graduating in 1946, Magna Cum Laude-Bachelor of Science. She was inducted into Kappa Gamma Pi, National Honor Society. Mary Frances was employed as a Quality Control Lab Technician at Glass Fibers, Waterville and later promoted to head of the department. In 1950, she married T. Dale Brigode at St. Joseph’s Church, Maumee and moved to Perrysburg. They had six children born between 1951- 1966. She became active in St. Rose Altar Society, served as secretary, president and committee chairman. She was also vice president of Kappa Gamma Pi in 1960’s and treasurer of Perrysburg League of Women’s Voters in the 1970’s. During the 1960’s, Mary Frances helped organize and operate St. Rose School Library and volunteered for various other school activities. Mary Frances also volunteered at McAuley High School Library. In 1975, she joined Dale in the operation of Brigode and Associates, a management consulting firm doing business globally. Mary Frances enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and hiking. Mary Frances and Dale visited all 48 states, Canadian Provinces from coast to coast and joined walking groups in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. In addition to her husband, Dale and her parents, Mary Frances was preceded in death by her daughter, Darcy in 1966 and brother, Frank. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Brigode of Perrysburg; sons, David Brigode of Sonoma, CA, Keith (Denise) Brigode of Perrysburg, Craig (Nancy) Brigode of San Francisco, CA, and Bruce (Barbara) Brigode of Perrysburg; grandchildren, Nicholas (Amanda), William, Charles, Andrew, and Dylan Brigode; step grandson, Richard (Susan) Seiling; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Elizabeth Brigode; step great- grandchildren, Allison and Asher Seiling and Preston Mangan. Also surviving are sisters, Marguerite, Dolores, Ann and Pat (Bob). A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg. Burial will be private in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Parish Building Fund or St. John’s Jesuit High School-Brigode Science Scholarship Fund.
