Reunion for Class of 1976

Friday August  5 at 6:00 at LaScola Restaurant on Airport Highway.

We have a room reserved and each classmate will pay for whatever they eat and drink that night.

Father of Diane Kwapich Crawford ’68 passed away

KWAPICH Florian “Floyd” T. Florian T. Kwapich, age 84, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on February 28, 1927, in Toledo to John and Mary (Kasprzyk) Kwapich. Florian was a U.S. Marine Veteran who proudly served his country during WWII. He had worked for Lindsay Foods for many years. Florian was a former member of St. Hyacinth Church where he was a member of the men’s choir. He was a current member of St. Rose Parish, the Logsdon-Walla Catholic War Vets Post 639, Przybylski American Legion Post 642 and a lifetime member of the St. Hyacinth Holy Name Society. Florian was an avid Notre Dame fan and spent his retirement traveling the United States by motor home with his wife. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Lottie (Bienko) Kwapich; children, Diane (Tom) Crawford, Cathy (Jerry) Meyer, Terri (Hai) Nguyen and Carolyn Kwapich-Fulton; grand children, Matthew, Michael, Brian, Alex, Lauren and Justin; brother, Theodore (Beatrice) Kwapich. Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Florian was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Kwapich. Family and friends may visit at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Rd., on Friday, June 17, 2011, from 2 to 8 PM where Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM by members of the Catholic War Vets. Members of the Przybylski Post 642 will hold services at 7:30. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:30 AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at St. Rose Church in Perrysburg. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Toledo. The family suggests that those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Florian’s memory to please consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Susan Hofmann Spencer ’74 passed away

SPENCER Susan M. Susan M. (Hofmann) Spencer, 54, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011, at University of Toledo Medical Center after a 17 year battle with breast cancer. Susan was born August 11, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Patricia (Graf) Hofmann. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Donald Spencer. Along with her husband, Susan is survived by her children, Douglas Schnapp and Linda (Brian) Holbrook; grandchildren, Mara Lyman, Susan Holbrook, and Amber Holbrook; siblings Michael (Ann) Hofmann, Mary Clemes, Margaret Jackson, and James (Paula) Hofmann, and many loving family members and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Creek Church, 29129 Lime City Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 with Pastor Lee Powell officiating. BRANDENBURG Charles F. Charles F. Brandenburg, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Charles was born January 4, 1923 in Westville, New Jersey to Charles Francis and Mary Agnes (Ryan) Brandenburg. Charles served our country in the United States Coast Guard during WWII aboard the USS Thenim in the South Pacific. He married Shirley Armstrong on June 26, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio and she preceded him in death on July 15, 1986. Charles worked for the Perrysburg Post Office for 30 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Rose Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Post 28. Charles was a master woodworker and was the community handyman for many years. He is survived by his children, Debby Johnston, Scott (Debbie) Brandenburg, Gayle Hunt, Mark Brandenburg, Lisa (Tom) Czerwiec, Brian (Jill) Brandenburg, Amy (Phil) Kajca and Darcy (Doug) Wilhelm; thirteen grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, Shirley, Charles was preceded in death by his son, Drew Brandenburg; parents and sister, Dotzie. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:15 A.M. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg. Burial will be private. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Memorial contributions may be made to The American Legion Post 28. Peggy Kennelly Meyer ’71

Glen & I will be married 38 years this coming September. We are quite happy here in Columbia, South Carolina, especially in January & February. We have become big fans of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks & have season tickets to the football games. I am still running my own business doing on-line sales. I sell mostly on ebay & sell almost anything you can imagine. My user ID is bercrystal. We became grandparents on May 30, 2007 to Madison Taylor who is an absolute bundle of joy in our lives. We also share our lives with 2 rescue dogs named Honey Girl & Scooter who manage to fill the tiny gaps of spare time with their needs & wants.

FLOYD Lois Dorothy (Murphy) Lois Dorothy Floyd of Whitehouse, Ohio, a devoted wife for 64 years of Edward Dresser Floyd, who survives her, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Born on April 10, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio, Lois was a dedicated Libbey alumna. She enjoyed spending time at her cottage on Wamplers Lake, MI and visiting her brother and family in Florida. At one time she worked for J.C.Penney and Consulting Radiologists. Lois raised 10 children and is survived by Kay, Jeane (Ray) Swemba-Kest, Dr. Edward J. (Susan) Floyd, Susan (Timothy) Iorio, Michael Floyd, Laura (David) Rahanian, Amy Goins, Lisa (Jeffrey) Armstrong, Patrick (Clare) Floyd and Cindy (Charles) Skeens. Also surviving are 21 grand children, 7 great grand children and her dog, Dolly. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jean; brother, Malcolm and grandson, Nicolas Iorio. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Wednesday (TODAY) from 2-8 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. in the mortuary followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Maumee, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Whitehouse Cemetery. Memorials may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family would like to thank Maria Love for her special care and concern. Avery “Cookie” FOLKS

FOLKS Avery “Cookie” Avery Jean Folks-Brown “Cookie”, 51, passed away May 26, 2011, at St. Vincent’s. Avery graduated from McAuley High School and attended The University of Toledo. She was a long time member of Mt. Pilgrim Church and was employed at E.O.P.A. Head Start as a teacher assistant. Avery is survived by son, Jonathan Goodloe; mother, Mary Brown; brother, John Brown; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services are Saturday, June 4, 2011, 11:00am at Mt. Pilgrim Church preceded by 10:00am wake service. Visitation Services are Friday from 7:00-9:00pm at The House of Day Funeral Services Chapel. Please sign register book at www.houseofday.com
