OSWALD Joan Joan Oswald, 70 years old, died Monday,
October 17th, 2011, surrounded by loved ones. Joan was born March 13, 1941, in
Whitehouse, Ohio, to Thelma Gingrich Wittenmyer Cyigon and Elza Wittenmyer. She
married the love of her life, Chuck Oswald, on August 19th, 1961. They had
almost 43 wonderful years together. Joan was a master bridge player, Toledo
platform tennis pioneer, and scrabble queen. Joan was an avid tennis player and
fan, attending tennis tournaments all over the world with her husband and
friends. Joan is reunited with her late husband, Chuck; her father, Elza; her
sister, Bonnie; her brother, Bill and her granddaughter, Precious. Joan is
survived by her mother, Thelma; sister, Barb (Dick) Hahn; her six children,
Theresa (Don) Ahrens, Julie (John) Abbey, Chuck Oswald (Deb Scott), Bonnie
Oswald (Lauraine Carpenter), Jennifer Oswald, John (Nadia) Oswald; seven
grandchildren, (Sarah, Kaitlan, Bailey, Jessica, Tyler, Jack and Sophia) and
many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers or donations, please consider
performing a random act of kindness. There will be a visitation at Coyle Funeral
Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. The
funeral service will be held in the mortuary Friday, October 21, at 1:00 p.m.,
beginning with a short visitation from 12-1:00. Interment will be private at
Resurrection Cemetery. In honor of Joan’s favorite season, please dress in
