Mother of Carol Kranz Potter ’70 & Betsy (Elizabeth) Kranz Villarreal ’77 passed away

KRANZ Mary E. “Betty” Betty Kranz, 87, of Maumee,
Ohio, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 8th, 2011, surrounded by her loving
family and her dog, Riley. She was born in Toledo, OH, on December 19th, 1923,
to Clifford and Hazel King (Bivens). She started her career at WSPD Radio as a
switchboard operator until she married Thomas J. Kranz Sr. and started her
family. Betty was a long time member at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic
Church. In her spare time she enjoyed tennis, golf, travel and tanning. Betty is
survived by her loving children: Tom Jr., Tim (Linda) and Terry (Anne) – sons,
daughters – Cathy (Rich), Fulton- Dzienny, Bonnie Yamano, Carol- (Jim) Potter,
Betsy (Jesse) Villarreal, Cindy Kranz and twenty three grandchildren and 25
great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Clifford King Jr. and
many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and
Hazel King and her youngest son Ted Kranz. Friends will be received on Friday
from 2-8pm in the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., where a rosary will
be recited at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday beginning at 10 am
in the mortuary followed by the funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, Maumee, at
10:30 am. The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially
Leeann R.N. and Dr. Donald Hickey M.D. for their compassion and support. Those
