Pamela S. ARTHUR

ARTHUR Pamela S. May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face… Pamela S. Arthur, avid golfer, margarita connoisseur, certified medical billing coder, and the owner of a quick wit, was born at The Toledo Hospital, March 4, 1959, and passed away there on Monday, February 13, 2012, after a brave fight with ovarian cancer. Pam was a lifelong south Toledoan. She attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help grade school. A 1977 graduate of McAuley High School, her classmates would be her comfort, company, and caregivers surrounding her and her family as she waged her health battle. Lovingly, Pam referred to them as the “McAuley Medical Machine,” all those same women, too many to name, providing care and support. Out-standing in her nursing efforts, Annette Mazzurco Hallett guided Pam’s care for her and her family laughingly and lovingly through-out this journey. Karen Hickey, another enduring friend, was especially supportive during this struggle. Linda Truman, the brain child behind “The Friends of Pam” bracelets and Facebook page, was an inspiration to Pam as they pulled “the McAuley Mafia” to her bedside. Pam’s dad and mom, Ralph D., a local firefighting hero, and Leona R, her true idol in this life preceded her in death. Pam Moran-Felix also precedes, Pam Arthur in death, and they were known together as “Margie and Rita”. Remembering the spirit of their sister, are Pat (Shari Pate), Bob, Randy (Andrea Brook). She was the favorite niece, of Bill and Alice Brandel, and aunt, Pat Arthur. The family wishes to thank all the nursing staff, especially the nurses of Surgical ICU. Pam had such a great respect for the nursing profession and all medical personnel, especially her coworkers at Surgicare, gratefully referring to them as “her angels.” Their sup-port and love for Pam will not be forgotten. Pam would be so honored if donations were made to the Northwest Ohio Chapter of Ovarian Cancer Society, The Historic Church of St. Patrick, or The Toledo Firefighters Museum. She would also be thrilled to see more flowers in your yard this summer! The Arthurs will remember and celebrate Pam February 18, at The Historic Church of St. Patrick, 130 Avondale. Visitation will begin at 1:00 and Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. …and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
