Wolfe, 51, It was a Wild Ride… Jackson resident Marianne Elizabeth Wolfe died July 30th at St John’s Hospital. The following was provided by her siblings. Our dear sister Marianne was born on Valentine’s Day 1961; the youngest of four siblings; to Dwight Wolfe and Donna Kerekes (Wolfe). Born in Bronxville, New York, the family returned that same year to Toledo, Ohio; the birthplace of many generations. There Mari lived until adulthood. She was a sweet, loving child full of life and good humor. Being the youngest she was able to get away with many fun pranks; always with a gleam of humor in her eye. In Marianne’s early teens she developed a mental illness that challenged her throughout her life. In the end her body gave out before her mind; which shows what a strong mind she had. Mari loved horses and was an adept rider in the English style. She was artistic and creative throughout her life. One of the last things she did before she passed; was to draw a picture of one of her favorite horses accompanied by a poem. In her youth she married for a short period and moved to Tennessee. There she learned to cook in the southern style. Moving back to Toledo; she enlisted in the army reserves as a jet trainee. This turned out to be a short lived experience due to her heath. Marianne first visited Jackson Hole in the early 80’s to see her sister, Diane. It was an exciting trip that included a run in with a not so friendly moose on a hike around Jenny Lake. In 2004 Marianne moved to Jackson with her mother. She loved Grand Teton Park for its beauty, lakes and wildlife; and enjoyed many summer days kayaking, sunning and swimming in String Lake. Marianne worked at Great Northern Coffee until the last few months of her life; when her health kept her from doing many of the things she enjoyed. She was a great help to everyone there and she loved coming in and being part of the crew of roasters and packagers. Baking and cooking was another of Marianne’s passions. She frequently brought her home baked cookies to share at work and with her neighbors and her family. She was always thinking of others; and what she could do to help. Mari will be greatly missed by all. Marianne is survived by her cat Willow; by her mother Donna Kerekes, her brothers John Wolfe, Moab, Utah; Denny Wolfe, St. Pete Beach, Florida, her sister Diane (Wolfe) Guslander, Jackson; her nephews Zach and David Guslander, DJ, Brayden and April Wolfe (Toledo) and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Dwight Lyman Wolfe. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday August 7th at the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole. A light lunch will be served afterward. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Horse Warriors of Jackson or the Senior Center of Jackson Hole.
