Dorothy P. Mitchell, 95, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2013. She was born on January 21, 1917, to John and Anastasia (Losik) Gurzynski in Toledo. She was a homemaker and in earlier years she worked at Champion Spark Plug. Dorothy was a member St. Hyacinth Church where she dedicated her life with great devotion to the Catholic faith and was a member of their Altar and Rosary Society and St. Francis Guild. She was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thaddeus; her parents; siblings, Clem and Ray Gurzynski and Helen Kwapich. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Lenore (Matthew) Bender and Deborah (Thomas) Ketzer; grandchildren, Adam Jackson, Ryan (Tara) Owens, Justin Owens and Hillary Hansen; great grandchildren, Christopher, Kacie, Nicholas, and Camille, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hyacinth Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
