Ralph Connolly, Jr, father of Peggy ’68, Callie ’70, Ann ’74, Kate ’75, Colleen ’81 passed away

Ralph Philip, Jr.

Ralph Philip Connolly, Jr., age 87, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2013. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 21, 1925 to Ralph and Mary (Prestler) Connolly, Sr.

Ralph was a 1943 graduate of Central Catholic High School, from there, going on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. His active duty took to him to Guam and Iwo Jima. He returned home and graduated from the University Of Toledo College Of Business. Ralph married Mary M. O’Connell in 1949.

He was President of Lenahan and Associates, retiring in 2007.

Surviving are his wife Mary;

children Peggy (Dick) Gonyer,

Callie (Mark) Nusbaum,

Tom (Carol) Connolly,

Ann (Wayne) Olsen,

Kate (Tom) Thebes

and Colleen Stahl;

grandchildren Todd and Eric Gonyer, Keith and Colin Nusbaum, Matthew, Ryan and Kevin Connolly, Andrew and Rebecca Olsen, Tom III, Molly, and Andrew Thebes, Phillip and Megan Stahl. Ralph is also survived by his sister-in-law Joan O’Connell. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill Connolly and sister Virginia Stoeckley.

Ralph will be sadly missed by his Friday Poker group, Bill Smith, Paul Hood, Dale Badyna, Paul Meyer, Bill Nachtrab, and Ray Wall.

Ralph was a long time member of the Historic Church of St. Patrick. He loved gardening and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.

Funeral services will be held at the Historic Church of St. Patrick, 130 Avondale Ave, 43604 on Saturday, April 6, 2013, where the family will greet guests starting at 11:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to either Historic Church of St. Patrick or Central Catholic High School scholarship fund. Marilou Shea Guy ’75 (Sister of Veronica ’78, Etitha ’82, Bernadette ’84)

I just found out about this passing… sorry it is late,

Marilou R. Guy, age 53, of Toledo passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Ebeid Residence Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 11, 1959, in the Philipines to Eduardo and Thelma Shea. Marilou was a pastry chef and helped managed the Dorothy Lane Market School of Cooking in Dayton, Ohio. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking and reading.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 30 years, Kirk Guy; children, Charles, Robert and Alex Guy; parents, Eduardo and Thelma Shea; sisters, Veronica (Mike) Papio, Bernadette Guy, Editha (Brian) Dehm and Kathleen (Ton) Le; brother, Eddie Shea, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews, and Siberian Husky, “Zorro.”
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2955 Dorr Street, Toledo, Ohio 43606. The family requests memorial contributions to Corpus Christi Church.

Carol Ann Wood, age 68, of Montague, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2013. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, where she graduated from McAuley High School and was class president. She attended the College of Mount Saint Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio, and soon after, married Thomas Charles Wood. They moved to the White Lake area where she spent most of her adult life promoting West Michigan Tourism. While living in Whitehall, she worked as the Director of the White Lake Chamber of Commerce, where she initiated the first of many successful Octoberfests. She also volunteered her time to coach the Whitehall Cheerleading and Pom Pom teams. Later, she became the director of the Muskegon County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Michigan Tourism United and the Marketing Director of the Muskegon Economic Growth Alliance. She was the Director of Sales for the Double JJ Resort, and then finished her career back in the White Lake area as Director of the Chamber of Commerce. She received many awards, but her most prized was the 2010 Lady Laker Award. The purpose of the Lady Laker Award is to recognize individuals who have served in an exceptional manner, especially in mentoring and assisting future leaders in the White Lake area.After her retirement she spent winters in Florida and continued to volunteer her time with the Downtown Development Authority of Montague, the Montague Artisan Market, the Lady Laker Selection Committee and the White Lake Arts Council. She was instrumental in the creation of the 2013 Leadership Why and How Series for Women.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Elizabeth Carr and her brother, Jack Carr.

Carol is survived by her husband, Tom Wood, two daughters, Wendy (Sal) Briseno and Amy (Frank) Duvall; four grandchildren, Harrison Briseno, Trey Duvall, Alex Duvall, and Jackson Briseno; brother, Kevin (Jane) Carr, and in-laws Paul, James, and Leslie Wood, along with nieces and nephews.

PRAYER SERVICE: Wednesday morning, April 10, 2013, at 10:00 AM, at Clock Funeral Home of White Lake, 413 S. Mears Ave., Whitehall, with Deacon Greg Anderson officiating.

VISITING TIME: Family will receive guests from 5-8 PM, Tuesday, April 9, at the funeral home in Whitehall. A SCRIPTURE SERVICE and EULOGY will be started at 7:00 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday evening.

Mary Beth Kramer Fallon ’63 passed away

Mary Beth Fallon, 67, of Maumee, OH, passed away after a long battle with lung cancer on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in Yuma, Arizona. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 15, 1945, to Karl and Mary (Pardon) Kramer. For 28 years, Mary Beth worked for the City of Maumee, and retired as the tax commissioner for the city. After retirement, Mary Beth loved to travel the country with her husband, Mel in their motor home. She was a friend of Bill W. for almost 39 years.

Mary Beth is survived by her husband, Mel; son, Tony Andrzejewski of Alpine, CA; daughter, Meg (Rich) Heffner of Boyertown, PA; stepdaughters, Linda (Gary) Miller of Perrysburg, Kathy (Bill) Santry of Maumee, Teri (Denise) Mills of Sarasota, FL; 12 grandchildren, and brother, Jim Kramer of San Francisco, CA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Andrzejewski, and a brother, Tom Kramer.

A memorial service will be held in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to theAmerican Cancer Society . Online condolences may be shared at
