Ralph Philip, Jr.
Ralph Philip Connolly, Jr., age 87, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2013. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 21, 1925 to Ralph and Mary (Prestler) Connolly, Sr.
Ralph was a 1943 graduate of Central Catholic High School, from there, going on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. His active duty took to him to Guam and Iwo Jima. He returned home and graduated from the University Of Toledo College Of Business. Ralph married Mary M. O’Connell in 1949.
He was President of Lenahan and Associates, retiring in 2007.
Surviving are his wife Mary;
children Peggy (Dick) Gonyer,
Callie (Mark) Nusbaum,
Tom (Carol) Connolly,
Ann (Wayne) Olsen,
Kate (Tom) Thebes
and Colleen Stahl;
grandchildren Todd and Eric Gonyer, Keith and Colin Nusbaum, Matthew, Ryan and Kevin Connolly, Andrew and Rebecca Olsen, Tom III, Molly, and Andrew Thebes, Phillip and Megan Stahl. Ralph is also survived by his sister-in-law Joan O’Connell. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill Connolly and sister Virginia Stoeckley.
Ralph will be sadly missed by his Friday Poker group, Bill Smith, Paul Hood, Dale Badyna, Paul Meyer, Bill Nachtrab, and Ray Wall.
Ralph was a long time member of the Historic Church of St. Patrick. He loved gardening and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Funeral services will be held at the Historic Church of St. Patrick, 130 Avondale Ave, 43604 on Saturday, April 6, 2013, where the family will greet guests starting at 11:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to either Historic Church of St. Patrick or Central Catholic High School scholarship fund.
