Marie Rose

Marie R. Kay went peacefully to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family the morning of February 9, 2014. Marie was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 15, 1922, to Anthony and Jennie Miller. Marie attended St. Stanislaus grade school and Libbey High School and worked at Champion Spark Plug. Marie married Ray B. Kay on June 1, 1946. Together they built a beautiful life for over 67 years. As a long-time parishioner at St. Patrick’s of Heatherdowns, Marie was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and participated in numerous church and school activities when her children were young. Marie was the “heart of her family”, an outstanding cook and homemaker, and a nurturing force for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren which were her greatest joy. Marie enjoyed her many travels with friends and family to places such as England, Scotland, Hawaii and California, and on cruises and countless trips down south to Florida.

Marie is survived by her loving husband, Ray; her two beloved daughters, Janis Kay and Susan (Joe) Vetter; five grandchildren, Aly Sterling, Andrea Plants-Szenderski, Margot (Brian) Borger, Clay Vetter and Liz Vetter. Marie was blessed to have seven great-grandchildren (and one on the way!), Madeline, Amelia, Isabelle, Jillian, Gabrielle, Charlotte and Norah. Marie was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Daniel (Dolores), Raymond (Evelyn) and Arthur Miller.

Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S Reynolds Rd.; on Tuesday February 11, 2014, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the mortuary on Wednesday, February 12th at 9:45 a.m., followed by the funeral Mass at Christ The King Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
