HEATER

Rebecca Brell

Becky, 54, passed away quietly on November 10, 2014, in her home in Columbus, OH after many years of medical challenges. Becky was born and raised in Maumee, OH, the middle of three girls, and attended McAuley High School and the Ohio State University where she earned her BSN. She was a proud RN, working in the burn unit and the oncology unit at Toledo and OSU hospitals and later at Careworks. She had a true compassion for her patients, their families and her profession. She was also a proud and loyal Buckeye.

Becky is survived by her husband, Thomas Heater; six stepchildren and four step grandchildren; her father, Thomas Brell; sisters, Bridget Brell Holt and Gretchen Brell Schroeder (Rich); in-laws, Harry and Barbara Heater; nieces, Rachael Holt Gray (Peter), Jillian and Natasha Zientek; nephew, Benjamin Holt and great-nephews, Henry and George Gray.

Becky doted on her nieces and nephew when they were young, she loved giving them dollars on their birthdays, one dollar for every year, and relished in their later accomplishments (Buckeyes all) and chosen professions.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Siedel Brell and her beloved basset hound, Bailey.

She will be sadly missed by family and friends. The family is having a celebration of her life on Saturday, November 15, with a Mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Maumee at 11 a.m. with a luncheon following at Degage Jazz Cafe, 301 River Rd, Maumee, OH. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Joanne Seidel Brell Fund at the Toledo Community Foundation, 300 Madison Ave., Suite 1300, Toledo, OH 43604.
