Sally (Ducey)
Sally Ann Kinn, age 89, of Maumee passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio,
Toledo. She was born February 6, 1927, in Toledo to Clarence and Ruth (Mettler)
Ducey. Sally attended DeVilbiss High School and was a graduate of the class of 1945. After high school she attended Indiana University and became a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She also attended the University of Toledo as well.
One of her main passions in life was riding Thoroughbred horses. She started riding at age 8 and showed hunters and jumpers throughout Michigan and Ohio. After riding, she became active in tennis and golf. Sally was a member of Inverness and Brandywine Country Clubs, Toledo Hospital Auxiliary, Toledo Opera, Toledo Symphony and the Maumee Garden Club. Sally also volunteered her time at The Ability Center and the Toledo Animal Shelter.
Sally is survived by her daughters, Karen Backus, Deborah (Paul) D’Alesio and Karolyn (Paul) Sallaws; grandchildren, Amber Backus, Jennifer Backus, Donnie (Tracy) Backus and Danielle D’Alesio; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia (Charles) Frandson. She was preceded in death by her
parents and sister, Joan
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday,
October 13, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee, Ohio. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Toledo Animal Shelter, 640 Wyman Street, Toledo, Ohio 43609. Online condolences may be given at
