Dorothy J. Kolodzaike, 89, of Toledo passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 10, 1927 in Whitehouse, Ohio to Elmer and Amanda J. (Mayer) Bucher. Dorothy was married in 1953 to Ronald J. Kolodzaike.

Dorothy worked for 9 years in IBM at the former Rossford Ordnance Department, retiring in 1954 to become a full time mother and homemaker. A charter member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, she enjoyed many years of golfing, bowling, cards and spending time with her grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Ronald J. Kolodzaike in 2002; brothers Erwin, Clifford, Ralph and Richard Bucher.

Surviving are her children, Ronald A. (Kathy) Kolodzaike, Sue (Jay) Schmidt, and Amy Kolodzaike; grandchildren, Brad (Cheryl) Kolodzaike, Karen Kolodzaike, Sara (Mark) Oaks, Christopher (Alia) Solarz, Mandy (DJ) Biggert, and Katie Schmidt and her fiancé Kyle Chudzinski; great-grandchildren Eliana, Sloane, and Levon Solarz; as well as special friends Joe and Pat Brandel.

Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Thursday, June 1 from 2-8 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will begin on Friday, June 2 at 9:30 a.m. in the mortuary, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church at 10 a.m. Interment Toledo Memorial Park.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church or the American Cancer Society .
