Robert Bauserman Obituary

Robert Bauserman

Robert “Bob” E. Bauserman, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, after an illness. Bob was born in Toledo, the last of six children, to John and Lulu (Warner) Bauserman. After graduating from Scott High School in 1949, Bob attended the University of Toledo. Bob graduated with a BBA degree in 1955. While at the university, Bob was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, and Kappa Sigma Kappa, and had also been a lifetime member of the University of Toledo Alumni Association.

Bob first saw the love of his life at a fraternity dance. Millie (Mila Pupik) was attending the dance with her date. Bob requested the opportunity to be introduced, but his request was declined. Bob persisted however, and the next week he was able to introduce himself to the lovely lady at her place of employment. The two were married one year later. In 1960 Bob joined the sales staff of Katy Steel and Aluminum. Bob was promoted to Sales Manager in 1965, and in 1972 was named the Vice President of Sales. While with Katy Steel Bob was an active member and board member of the Toledo Sales and Marketing Executives Club. In that role he served as a mentor for local high school students who acted as sales managers for their Junior Achievement project companies. After Katy Steel ceased operations in 1983, Bob joined the sales staff at Sennett Steel Corp of Madison Heights, Michigan. He became Sales Manager of the Toledo Division, and worked for the company until his retirement in 1994.Bob had an intense and active interest in automobiles. He owned many classic models through the years and was especially fond of convertibles. Cars meant travel and Bob was interested in seeing as much of the world as he could. Also, many summers were spent at a family cottage at Devil’s Lake, Michigan, and later in life, winters at Myrtle Beach, SC. Bob also had a keen interest in music of all types, and was especially fond of jazz. He shared his love of music with his children and delighted his grandchildren by singing many of the old tunes. His 63 year union with Millie resulted in three offspring, Steven (Janice), Phillip (Sue Ann), and Robin (Ronald) Gillmore. In addition to his wife and three children, Bob is survived by six grandchildren, Amy, Zachary (Tamako), Jacob, Annalise, Lauren and Andrew; and one great-grandchild, Jude.A funeral mass will be held at St. John the 23rd Catholic Church, Route 25, Perrysburg, Ohio, at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 16. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the mass.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Northwest Ohio , or St. John the 23rd Catholic Church, both of Perrysburg, Ohio.
