Mother of Susan ’69, Mary Caye ’70, Lynn ’72 & Janet McCann ’73 passed away:

Susanne worked for years as a Market Research Consultant then as an accomplished Salesperson for the Lion Store of Toledo. Her children nicknamed her “the fashion police”. Susanne was a lifelong volunteer in her church, her children’s various schools and at MCO. Her family, books and sewing were her passions. The christening gown she handmade for her first child has been worn by three generations. Our friends always felt like they were home because Susanne was so warm and approachable.Susanne is survived by her husband of 16 years, Donald Clees, “she filled my heart with love”; children, Susan McCann, Mary Caye McCann, Lynn (Dan) McCarty, Janet (Steve) Kyle, Jim (Julie) McCann, Brian (Margaret) McCann; daughter by choice, Barbara Hertzsch; stepsons, Don (Nina) Clees and Tom (Janet) Clees; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, as well as sister, Patricia Dawkins and sister-in-law, Marianne Hanton. Susanne was predeceased by husband, James J. McCann and brother, Thomas Hanton.There are not enough words of gratitude to thank the amazing and caring people at Promedica Toledo Hospital and Hospice of Northwest Ohio. You gave our Susanne the gift of dignity. A warm thank you to Susanne’s friend, Trisha, for the beautiful visual, “she is now dancing in the cosmos”.Visitation will take place at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds on Friday, March 16 from 2-8 p.m. with sharing at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 17 at St. Patrick’s of Heatherdowns Church at 10 a.m. where the family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m.Donations may be made to either Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Patrick’s of Heatherdowns Church.
