Port Charlotte, FL

Regina Schneider Arps, 73, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017, at her Port Charlotte residence.

Regina was born February 20, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Lee A. and Catherine T. Schneider. Regina met and married William V. “Bill” Arps, and together, left their native Toledo for Greenville, South Carolina where they raised two daughters. Regina, a former Legal Secretary, retired with her husband Bill to Port Charlotte in 2007, where they had been wintering since 2005. She enjoyed many activities, but none more than weekly Friday night fish dinner with friends, exercising at Curves’, weekly Bingo night, Tuesday Bridge Club at the Port Charlotte Cultural Center, and regular visits to the Punta Gorda Elk’s Lodge and Port Charlotte Loyal Order of Moose.

In addition to her parents, Regina was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Henry, in 2017. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, William V. “Bill” Arps, and daughter Kelli Carlton of Greenville, SC; son-in-law, husband of Karen, John Henry of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren, Zak, Taylor, Samantha, and Sawyer; and one sister.

The Arps family invites friends to attend a Celebration of Life gathering for Regina, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 10th, 2017, at the Green Valley Country Club located at 225 Green Valley Road, Greenville, SC 29617.

In lieu of flowers, to honor Regina, memorial giving is suggested to the American Cancer Society, 2970 University Parkway Suite 104, Sarasota, FL 34243, or online at www.cancer.org .

Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to extend condolences to the family. Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Homes & Crematory, Port Charlotte Chapel.
