Marie Delores Casaletta
January 22, 1926 – January 9, 2021
With profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Marie Delores Casaletta on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the age of 94. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all whose life she touched.
Marie was born on January 22, 1926 in Utica New York to Attilio and Mary Palmieri. She was married to Joseph Casaletta who proceeded her in death. Together they raised 2 sons, Robert (Kathy) and Joseph (Kathi); and a daughter, Therese/Terry (Joseph) Borrelli.
In 1967, Marie and her family moved to Toledo, Ohio where she worked as an administrative assistant for Bell and Beckwith, AP Parts and St. Charles Hospital until her retirement in 1992.
Marie was an avid cook and reader who enjoyed her retirement days with her family and friends at the family’s Round Lake, Michigan lake house.
Marie is survived by her 5 grandchildren, Robert (Kim) Casaletta, Kevin (Clair) Casaletta, Anthony (Izabella) Casaletta, Jenifer (Mike) Weaver and Joseph (Jenn) Borrelli; and 4 great grandchildren, Harper Weaver, Brett Weaver, Dominic Casaletta, and Mia Casaletta. She is also survived by her brothers, August (Bud) and James (Jim)Palmieri.
Most of all, Marie deeply loved her family and instilled in them strong values that have served them well. She will dearly be missed and be forever in our hearts.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers and staff of StoreyPoint Senior Living, Waterville, Ohio for their kindness and compassion in caring for Marie during her time there.
Due to COVID-19, no visitation or funeral services will be scheduled. A memorial celebration of Marie’s life will be held at a later, yet-to-be determined date.
