Obituary for Abel Mata
Abel Reyes Mata, age 59 of Toledo, passed away on January 24, 2021. He was born to Abelardo and Maria (Reyes) Mata on June 22, 1961, in Meoqui Chihuahua, Mexico. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm. He spent his career working as a Maintenance Manager for Godfry and Wing. Abe was a proud member of the American Legion Adams Township Post #553 and the Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid NASCAR fan and never missed a race in Michigan, especially M.I.S. Abe loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jose Mata. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; children, Richard (Elizabeth) Mata, Anthony Mata, Whitney Mata, Alex (Chelsea) Manning, Catherine (Billy Blevins) Manning; grandchildren, Raylan, Lily, Sophia, and Matthew; siblings, Grace Mata, Estella (Bob) Smith, Roger (Cynthia) Mata and Gilberto (Diana) Mata, as well as, many other extended family members and friends.
