Mary Katherine Sheehy ’74 passed away: (sister of Jane ’68 and Maureen ’80)

Mary Katherine Sheehy, age 65, passed away from cancer on July 1, 2021. Mary was born on January 19, 1956 in Toledo. She was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Katherine A. Sheehy.

She is survived by her loving siblings, Jane E. Kramer (Paul Giblin) of Evanston, IL; Patrick J. Sheehy of Toledo; Kevin A. Sheehy (Richard Radocchia) of Shelton, CT; and Maureen A. Sheehy (Steve Catton) of Orinda, CA; her stepmother, Sylvia M. Sheehy of Toledo; and by four nieces and nephews.

Mary was a graduate of McAuley High School, attended Saint Mary’s College and graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in business. Mary worked for the Lucas County government, the Andersons, and then relocated to the Chicago area for 14 years. She returned to Toledo in 2001 where she worked with a hospice home care organization, the Pharmacy Counter and finally ProMedica until she retired in January of 2020.

Mary was devoted to her family and her sense of humor was a gift to all who knew her. As a result of chronic medical issues, Mary moved to the Elizabeth Scott Community in April 2020 and was generously cared for by Hospice of Northwest Ohio in her final months.

Services will be private. Donations in Mary’s memory can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
