Daughter of Christine Stengle ’68 (niece of Cynthia Stengle ’70) passed away:

Amy Lynn Stephenson, age 52, passed away December 7th, 2021, in her Toledo home with her beloved dog Justice by her side.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Christine Leighton; father, Tom Stephenson; stepfather, David Leighton Sr.; stepmother, Sue Stephenson; her siblings, Sean (Elle) Stephenson, Jamie Leighton, and David Leighton Jr.; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Amy graduated from Maumee High School and received her Associate’s Degree from the University of Toledo. Her love for animals was apparent by her dedication to the many pets she owned throughout her lifetime. No one who met Amy forgot her wit, passion, sass, and sense of humor. She was an avid reader, passionate about her trips to Hocking Hills with friends, travels to Amsterdam, her love for music, local festivals, and the comfort of home.

Services will be private and held for the family. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, any remembrances be given in Amy’s name to the Toledo Humane Society.
