Maryann (Glaser) Terry

November 30, 1955 – September 11, 2022

Maryann (Glaser) Terry was born November 30, 1955, to parents James Joseph Glaser and Johanne Callahan Glaser in Cincinnati Ohio. On September 11, 2022, Maryann passed away unexpectedly Fairbanks Alaska while on vacation with her husband, Charlie, by her side. She is survived by her 3 siblings, Linda Glaser Bueno, Alex: Pamela Jeska Linker, David and Robert Glaser, Esther. She also is survived nieces, Jennifer Adamson (Christopher Lineback and Brittany Glaser; and a nephew, Steven (Yachiyo) Jeska.

In 1966, the Glaser family moved to Toledo Ohio where Maryann attended St. Patrick’s of Heatherdowns Elementary School and graduated from McAuley High School in 1974. She then went on to the University of Toledo and received a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management.

She worked as the director of the YWCA day camp. She interned at the Jackson Hole Science. Maryann was also on the ski patrol there and in New Hampshire. While in New Hampshire she managed several restaurants in North Conway.

She moved to Venice, FL to be closer to her parents. Maryann worked at the Loveland Center for disabled adults. Then moved to the South Florida Habitat for Humanity. As the director of the Sarasota United Way, she continued to give back to her community. Maryann was an active member of the Venice FL Rotarians including serving as the group’s first woman president

Maryann and Charlie retired and recently relocated to South Carolina. Mary loved being outdoors gardening, hiking, camping and walking Tilly.

We will miss her smile, her warmth, her infectious laughter, and her zest for life. The family suggest memorials to The Loveland Center in Venice, FL. A celebration of Maryann’s life is being planned for this winter in Venice, FL.

Barbara Hausknecht ’77 passed away from ovarian cancer:

Barbara Marie Rasik

Barbara Marie Rasik (maiden name: Hausknecht) of Swanton Ohio, passed away December 17th at age 62.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Michael Steven Rasik; daughter, Cassandra Brandt; son, Daniel Rasik (wife Genevieve Rasik); son, Christopher Rasik and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Charles Hausknecht and son-in-law, John “Gus” Brandt.

Barb was a graduate of McAuley High School and was a very loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Her favorite hobbies were baking, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Weigel Funeral Home Tuesday, December 21st from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Swanton on Wednesday, December 22nd at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Dalton Rosa-Ruggieri officiating.

Ann Rogers ’79

Last Friday my sister Ann was involved in an accident where a tow truck ran a red light and Tboned her which took her life. She was going to have a birthday the 28th of this month. May she rest in heaven with Big Daddy!!

Donna Bohland ’64 passed away

Madonna Marie Whalen of Scotch Ridge, Ohio passed away December 6, 2021. She was born December 19, 1946 to the late Thomas and Imelda(Tiller) Bohland.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Howard Theodore Whalen, Jr.; children, Laura Hall(Brenrton Barteck) and Sean Whalen and grand dog, Rocky; grandchildren, Evan and Evelyn Hall; siblings, Ronald Bohland, Ardell (Jerry) Van Mason, Randall (Jean) Bohland, Russell (Cathi) Bohland and Patricia Mahaney; sister-in-law, Cynthia(Joseph) Hatas, as well as many relatives and friends.

Donna, as she preferred to be called grew up in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from McAuley High School in 1964 and went on to St. Vincent Medical School and became a LPN. She had varied careers in medicine including St. Vincent Hospital, Flower Hospital, Aetna Insurance Company, and the Orthopedic medical office of Dr. Leonard Buck. In her free time, she started a brownie and girls scout troop at Webster School. During her retirement she continued to help people volunteering at her church food pantry and working at Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed camping, flower gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on January 29, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, Ohio at 11:00 a.m.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staffs of St. Vincent Hospital and Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg for their care and compassion. Memorials, in Donna’s name, may be sent to Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg at 30000 E. River Road or to the First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green at 1526 E. Wooster St. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.

Mary Francis ’78 passed away 10/22/2020 from Lung Cancer

Mary Grolle, 60, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully at home, after a hard fought battle with cancer, on October 22, 2020. Born in Toledo, Ohio on November 18, 1959 to Thomas and Jean Francis, they precede her in death. Mary graduated from McAuley High School in 1978. She married David Grolle on September 12th, 1981, he survives. Mary is also survived by her two daughters, Kate (Ryan) Miller and Anna (Zach) Rausch and five grandchildren, Hayley and Kinzie Miller, Layne, Lawson, and baby boy Rausch.
Also surviving are her sisters Carol Francis, Joan Greene, Susan (John) McCarthy, Sally (John) Leahy; brothers, Mike Francis, Rick (Sharon) Francis; brother-in-law, Geoff Waggoner; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Kathy Waggoner, and brother- in- law, Tim Greene.
Mary worked at Bowling Green State University as an event coordinator. It was her passion to create the perfect event. In her spare time she enjoyed glass mosaic art, making many pieces for friends and family. Mary was a very loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching her daughters and grandchildren participate in their sporting events, 4-H activities, and FFA activities.

Kimberly Rinehart ’80 passed away

Kimberly Rinehart Merline passed away at her home in Purcellville, Va., on January 24, 2020. Kimberly was born in Kansas City, Kansas, to Dr. Donald and Marilyn Rinehart on March 27, 1962, and grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio. She received her bachelors degree in English at the University of Michigan, where her future husband was also attending (but whom she wouldnt meet until years later). She received her Masters degree in English from the University of Toledo. When she came to Washington for a journalism internship in 1989, she met her husband, John, and after marrying on July 6, 1991, they had three boys, Jack, Matt and Joey. Kimberly devoted every waking minute to raising her boys in a loving, caring, nurturing environment. She loved teaching, and for 10 years she homeschooled them. Kimberly taught them to love learning as much as she did. She shared with them her love of God. She encouraged them to pursue their passion, whether film, music, or computer programming. She was a steady moral guide. She poured out her love for them. Anyone who knew Kimberly knew she was thoughtful, caring, generous in spirit, with a forgiving heart and an infectious laugh. Kimberly is survived by her parents, her brother Greg Rinehart, her husband and her three boys. There will be a visitation for Kimberly at Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville, Va., on Thursday, January 30th from 6 pm to 8 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Church in Purcellville at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 21st. Patricia Casey ’64 passed away

March 10, 1946 – September 12, 2022

Patricia Bernadette Thomas, age 76 of Monroe, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, at the ProMedica Regional Hospital of Monroe.

Born March 10, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio. She was one of five children of the late Joseph and Agnes (Whitaker) Casey. Pat graduated from McAuley High School in Toledo in 1964.

Pat always enjoyed being with her family. For holidays and parties with friends, it didn’t matter, she was always there to entertain. Pat loved to cook, some of her famous dishes included chicken paprikosh and chicken and dumplings. Another one her favorite past times was going to the casino for fun.  She will be remembered as a great mom, caring grandmother, thoughtful sister, and considerate friend. Pat will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Loving mother of Tracy (Scott Johnson) Milton and Tamela Goergen. Dear grandmother of Jessica, T.J., Jonathan, Nicholas, and Holly. Great grandmother of Paisley Jenn. Also survived by a sister-in-law: Linette (Garth) Richard.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by daughter: Jennifer Baldwin; and siblings: Kate Casey, James Casey, Betty Porter, and Mary Sheehy.

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Rupp Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A funeral service will conclude viewing at 4:00 pm. In accordance with Pat’s wishes, cremation will follow, with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.

Father of Colleen Baird ’82 (and Judith ’74, deceased) passed away:

Robert Joseph Baird, known to all as Bob, age 95, passed away on September 3, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on April 16, 1927, in East Cleveland, Ohio, the youngest son of Howard and Emma Baird. In his youth, Robert was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and attended Collinwood High School in Cleveland. He was also a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Maumee, OH. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Guam during World War II. Loved ones who have preceded Robert in death are his beloved wife of 60 years, Geri, his daughter, Judith; older brothers, Howard Baird Jr. and Jack Baird, as well as grandson, Ian Baird.

Robert is survived by his children, Gary (Barbara), Tom (Laura), Brian (Kim) of Omaha, NE, and Colleen (Matt Pocock); 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces who loved him dearly.

Robert enjoyed numerous sports and his work life spanned 35 years as a Sales Representative for Deluxe Corporation. He enjoyed creating wonderful family memories, travelling with Geri, and watching his favorite professional Cleveland sports teams. Robert and Geri were active in the Waterville Playshop and Fallen Timbers Swim and Tennis Club.

Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Friday, September 9th from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church (Maumee) at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Jeanne Graden ’67 passed away

Born December 23, 1949 to Jack and Dorothy (Haddad) Graden. Jeanne was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend. Jeanne’s loved ones remember her constant generosity, humor and especially her fierce loyalty to those she loved. Jeanne’s passions included bringing people together at her annual Lebanese feast, attending the symphony and spending quality time with family. Jeanne deeply loved music, and enjoyed art, reading nonfiction, and gardening. She was always true to herself and inspired those around her.

Jeanne attended McAuley High School and University of Toledo, and taught Theater Arts and English at Woodward High School for seven years. She spent 28 years in Chicago, working as a report department manager at RSM McGladrey. In her retirement, she shared her gift for compassion as a volunteer at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Father John Graden of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales. She is survived by her siblings, Joseph (Mary Pat) Graden and Mary Jo (Hilary Marsh) Graden, nephew, nieces, great-nieces and cousins, and a strong community in Toledo and Chicago.
