FARQUHARSON Richard “Dick” A. Richard A. Farquharson, 58, left this life to enter his heavenly home with the Lord on Monday, November 29, 2010. Dick was born February 5, 1952, in Perrysburg, Ohio, to George and Marcelle (Beemer) Farquharson. Dick graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1970 and earned his Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Toledo. He married the love of his life, Kris Falk in 1973 in Toledo, Ohio. Dick is remembered by everyone he knew for his selflessness, patience and exceptional abilities. Dick was a gifted engineer who held numerous patents for products and machine designs. Dick was passionate about helping others. Dick will be remembered as everyone’s “go-to” person; there was never a question that he could not answer and no problem that he couldn’t solve. He enjoyed woodworking, singing karaoke, golfing with his son and spending quality time in the pool that he hand-built for his loving family. He especially enjoyed the blessing of his new grandson and the time that he spent each weekend with Colton and his daughter Kelly. Dick was a loving man and showed others the perfect example of how a husband loves and honors his wife. One of his favorite things was simply running errands with his wife because he treasured spending time with her. He was his wife’s best friend and a hero to his children. He was very fortunate to have wonderful friends as well and cherished those relationships. He enjoyed vacationing with friends and family and had that opportunity several times in the past 5 years. Dick was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed more than words can describe. Along with his wife of 37 years, Kris, he is survived by his children, Brian (Laurie) Farquharson and Kelly (Troy) Carpenter; grandson, Colton Carpenter; sisters, Sabra Laberdee, Ginger (Dick) Strahm and Carol Kay Elliott; brothers, Bruce (Ellen) Farquharson, Robert Farquharson and Joe (Lana) Farquharson; along with many dear family and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. on Thursday, December 12th, in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, December 3, 2010, with burial in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be made by visiting www.witzlershank.com .
