Trudy liked to garden, cook and maintain her home. She was an avid reader and loved to play cards especially a game called “66” with her

sisters. She taught all of her children and grandchildren to play various types of solitaire. After the death of her husband in 1977, she acted on a desire to learn the game of golf. She played in a league at South Toledo Golf Club and played her last round of golf with her granddaughter, Rachel, when she was in her early 80’s. She loved sports, especially following her beloved Cleveland Indians, Browns and the Duke Blue Devils basketball team.

Posted by mcauleyhighschool on November 16, 2013

IRONS

Michelle Marie

“To laugh often and much: to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children… to leave the world a better place… to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Michelle passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the age of 49 years and one week, after a brief battle with cancer. Those who knew and loved her will miss her energy, her smiles, and her determination to do things her way. She died doing what she loved to do, cruising with her family. She leaves a void in the lives of her family as well as all those who knew her.

She loved travel and theatre. She surrounded herself with family and friends who shared her passions. Mick’s life was one of unconditional love and she will be dearly missed by all those that knew her, including her family, patients, their families and her many friends far and wide. She was the family reunion coordinator and family photographer, keeping her memories for everyone. Her annual Christmas letter was a bright spot in everyone’s mailbox, as she chronicled her year’s travels, adventures, and family additions.

Michelle was fiercely independent, a woman of great strength and strong faith. She loved life and loved people. All who knew her, know that she truly did leave this world a better place.

She is survived by her parents, Charles and Marie Irons, and five siblings, Rebecca Hussing (Sean LaPlante), April Flynn, Christine Chambers (Dave), Charles “Chip” Irons (Amy), Virginia Hindbaugh (Chuck); nieces and nephews, Jessica Hussing Gregory (Michael), Samantha Hussing, Brandon Beaverson (Jeanette), Zachary Flynn (Whitney), Kaitie and Hannah Flynn, Brittnay Chambers Highsmith (Trey), Courtney Chambers, Anthony Chambers (Amanda), Jacob Chambers, Charles “Chase” Irons, Emma Irons, Celia, Chali, Acea, Charles III, Elijah and Levi Hindbaugh. Great-nieces and nephews, Maraya, Camren and Brooke. Also left to mourn her are aunts, uncles and cousins, too numerous to mention.

She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception “Darby;” McAuley High School; Walsh College (University); and Medical College of Ohio a.k.a. UTMC. She has been a practicing pediatrician in the Toledo area since 1994. She gave her time to the Double Arc Program and to Immaculate Conception Church. Her affiliations were many and those who knew her spoke highly of her.

In lieu of flowers, we, her survivors, request that you consider Double Arc, 3837 Secor Rd. Toledo, OH 43623 (it was her passion for helping children afflicted with FASD/FAE; or Immaculate Conception Church, 434 Western Ave. Toledo, OH 43609 to establish a Memorial in Michelle’s name [M.I.M.I.C.] Michelle Irons Memorial at Immaculate Conception.
